…“Armed”, as usual, with reflex, camera and wearing camouflage, I walk along the river bank, which in this period is in full flow. It is a late Spring morning, my objective is to reach an old quarry of “tufo” on the other side of the river where on one the faces of the quarry a kestrel is trying to nest and to follow their endeavours. Reaching a wide stretch of the river, rather than following it, I decide to cross where there is a fallen tree trunk acting as a bridge. I have still a long way to go but the vegetation along the bank slows my progress. A little further on, the Sun at its peak raises the temperature, I begin to feel resent the heat and the fatigue and decide to rest. Lying down on the river bank under the weeping willows I glimpse a part of the sky with clouds rushing across.
